Dr. Roy Hayashi
Roy Hayashi, DMD, was born in Huntington Beach and raised in Irvine. He graduated from Irvine High School in 1988 and received a Bachelor of Science in Physiological Science from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1993. Dr. Hayashi moved to the East Coast to study at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where the graduated with a D.M.D. in 1998. He graduated with a certificate in endodontics from New York University 2001.
From 2001 to 2006, Dr. Hayashi worked as an associate at Worchester Endodontics under Jay Marlin, DMD, and inventor of the Obtura. While working in Worchester, he felt a need to unite with other professionals and founded the Young Dental Study Group of Worchester. He was president of this organization, which provided an opportunity for young dentist in the local area to learn and socialize. Dr Hayashi was also an instructor at UMASS general practice residency program and enjoyed teaching both in the classroom and clinic.
Professional Affiliations
Dr. Hayashi continues to build the dental community he lives, this time as an active member of the local Orange County Dental Society. Dr. Hayashi has had the pleasure to meet and establish a relationship with several of the boards’ team members and looks forward to serving as a board member in the future. He also keeps strong affiliations with state and national societies including: California Dental Society (CDA), American Dental Society (ADA) and the American Association of Endodontics (AAE).
An Avid Sportsman
Dr. Hayashi has traveled the world in search of the best destination to kiteboard, windsurf, surf, snowboard, and scuba dive.
His adventures have included kiteboarding in Brazil, surfing gin Maldives, heliboarding in Utah and surfing in Maui. Dr. Hayashi also spent time trekking and canoeing on an African safari where he drifted off to sleep listening to a lion roar nearby while it enjoyed its midnight snack.
Homecoming
More than a decade has passed since Dr. Hayashi has lived in his hometown of Irvine. Although Dr. Hayashi has traveled the globe, he is thrilled to return to home and become a member of the community that helped raise him. He knows that establishing his practice in Orange County is a milestone in his life. He looks forward to working with local dentist and using his expertise and calm, mild manner to ease the discomfort of his patients.
